"Scandal-ridden Prime Minister Boris Johnson capitulated to mounting pressure Thursday and announced his decision to step down after days of high-profile government resignations and calls from fellow Conservative Party members to quit.
“In the past few weeks, I have been trying to convince my colleagues it would be eccentric to change governments when we have achieved so much,” he said in his speech outside No. 10 Downing St. amid loud booing from the crowd nearby. “I regret not to be successful in those arguments and, of course, it’s painful not to be able to see through those projects myself.”
Johnson said he planned to remain as prime minister until a successor was chosen — a move that was already facing opposition in an increasingly hostile Parliament."

Damat Ferit Paşa hükümetlerinde Maarif (Eğitim) ve Dahiliye Nazırlığı (İçişleri Bakanlığ) yapan Ali Kemal'ın babası Hacı Ahmet Rıza Efendi, 1813'te Çankırı'nın Kalfat köyünde doğmuştu.
Johnson 2005'teki röportajında Türkiye'nin üyeliğine sempatiyle baktığını dile getiriyor, Türk yanının zayıf olduğunu belirtse de "Türkiye'yi seviyorum" diyor.
Johnson, 2016'da Brexit kampanyası sırasında oy toplamak için birçok açıklamasında, 'Türk göçünün İngiltere için tehdit teşkil ettiğini' ifade etmişti. Daha sonra sorulduğunda, bu tür açıklamalar yaptığını inkar etti.
Oysa Johnson, referandumdan bir hafta önce, Brexit yanlısı Michael Gove ile dönemin Başbakanı David Cameron'a yazdığı bir mektupta, İngiltere'yi Türkiye'den gelecek kitlesel bir göçten korumanın tek yolunun, AB'den ayrılmak olduğunu öne sürmüştü.

Boris Johnson
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, popular historian and journalist who has served as Mayor of London since 2008 and as Member of Parliament (MP) for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Johnson previously served as the MP for Henley from 2001 until 2008. A member of the Conservative Party, Johnson considers himself a One Nation Conservative and has been described as a libertarian due to his association with both economically liberal and socially liberal policies.
Born in New York City to upper middle class English parents, Johnson was educated at the European School of Brussels, Ashdown House School, and Eton College. He read Classics at Balliol College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Bullingdon Club and was elected President of the Oxford Union in 1986. Beginning his career in journalism at The Times, he later became The Daily Telegraph's Brussels correspondent, with his articles exerting a strong influence on growing Eurosceptic sentiment among the British right-wing. He became assistant editor from 1994 to 1999 before taking the editorship of The Spectator from 1999 to 2005. Joining the Conservatives, he was elected to the House of Commons as MP for Henley in 2001. Making regular television appearances as well as continuing with his journalism and book writing, Johnson became one of the most conspicuous politicians in the country. Under the Conservative leaders Michael Howard and David Cameron, Johnson served on the opposition front bench, first as Shadow Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries and then for Higher Education.

"Scandal-ridden Prime Minister Boris Johnson capitulated to mounting pressure Thursday and announced his decision to step down after days of high-profile government resignations and calls from fellow Conservative Party members to quit.
“In the past few weeks, I have been trying to convince my colleagues it would be eccentric to change governments when we have achieved so much,” he said in his speech outside No. 10 Downing St. amid loud booing from the crowd nearby. “I regret not to be successful in those arguments and, of course, it’s painful not to be able to see through those projects myself.”
Johnson said he planned to remain as prime minister until a successor was chosen — a move that was already facing opposition in an increasingly hostile Parliament."

Britain's Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has said he hopes for a big trade deal with Turkey after the UK leaves the European Union.

55 yaşındaki Boris Johnson, öldürülen Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun son Dahiliye Nazırı (İçişleri Bakanı) Ali Kemal'in torunu Stanley Johnson'ın oğlu. Damat Ferit Paşa hükümetlerinde Maarif (Eğitim) ve Dahiliye Nazırlığı (İçişleri Bakanlığ) yapan Ali Kemal'ın babası Hacı Ahmet Rıza Efendi, 1813'te Çankırı'nın Kalfat köyünde doğmuştu.
Johnson 2005'teki röportajında Türkiye'nin üyeliğine sempatiyle baktığını dile getiriyor, Türk yanının zayıf olduğunu belirtse de "Türkiye'yi seviyorum" diyor.
Johnson, 2016'da Brexit kampanyası sırasında oy toplamak için birçok açıklamasında, 'Türk göçünün İngiltere için tehdit teşkil ettiğini' ifade etmişti. Daha sonra sorulduğunda, bu tür açıklamalar yaptığını inkar etti.
Oysa Johnson, referandumdan bir hafta önce, Brexit yanlısı Michael Gove ile dönemin Başbakanı David Cameron'a yazdığı bir mektupta, İngiltere'yi Türkiye'den gelecek kitlesel bir göçten korumanın tek yolunun, AB'den ayrılmak olduğunu öne sürmüştü.

Boris Johnson
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, popular historian and journalist who has served as Mayor of London since 2008 and as Member of Parliament (MP) for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Johnson previously served as the MP for Henley from 2001 until 2008. A member of the Conservative Party, Johnson considers himself a One Nation Conservative and has been described as a libertarian due to his association with both economically liberal and socially liberal policies.
Born in New York City to upper middle class English parents, Johnson was educated at the European School of Brussels, Ashdown House School, and Eton College. He read Classics at Balliol College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Bullingdon Club and was elected President of the Oxford Union in 1986. Beginning his career in journalism at The Times, he later became The Daily Telegraph's Brussels correspondent, with his articles exerting a strong influence on growing Eurosceptic sentiment among the British right-wing. He became assistant editor from 1994 to 1999 before taking the editorship of The Spectator from 1999 to 2005. Joining the Conservatives, he was elected to the House of Commons as MP for Henley in 2001. Making regular television appearances as well as continuing with his journalism and book writing, Johnson became one of the most conspicuous politicians in the country. Under the Conservative leaders Michael Howard and David Cameron, Johnson served on the opposition front bench, first as Shadow Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries and then for Higher Education.
