Something that has been discussed and dissected a lot in recent weeks has been the announcement that Maverick Vinales and Yamaha will be terminating their contract at the end of this year despite having agreed for one more year. Eat what I want, sleep as much as I want. When you stop making certain sacrifices, afterwards it is really very difficult to go back to making them” He then turned his attention to Vinales “He certainly thinks he is a rider capable of winning the championship and he has tried for many years With Yamaha” Lorenzo then elaborated on how he himself did something similar referring to the time he left Yamaha to join Ducati “He failed for some reason and now he wants to try another path and he’s right to do that. I did it too in the past and I wish him all the best” He signed off by weighing in on whether Vinales’ teammate Fabio Quartararo was a factor in his decision “Maverick gave everything to win With Yamaha, but for one reason or another he did not succeed. For sure having a teammate like Quartararo, who on average is ahead of him, is not easy to manage from a psychological point of view and I think it weighed a lot for him” Fast Feed Certain reports are suggesting that the races scheduled to take place in Thailand and Malaysia on the 17th and 24th of October respectively might get canceled due to the ongoing pandemic [Crash] It is also being suggested that if that’s the case then MotoGP might consider holding a second race at a couple of the remaining venues to make up the numbers Maverick Vinales feels that “Aprilia has improved a lot with Aleix [Espargarò]” but confirmed that “Suzuki is not in the plans” [Radio Catalunya] He reiterated that he knows “what [he] can do, and Yamaha won't let [him], so [he has] to find something different” Aprilia’s Lorenzo Savadori has explained that “it is not easy for a rider like [him] to come to MotoGP from the Italian championship” [GP One] “Right now [he’s] trying to adapt to certain situations such as totally different bikes, riding styles, tires and categories” He is also “not interested in the market chatter of the last few days. [His] job is to compete, there are numerous Grands Prix ahead of [them]. The important thing is to stay in MotoGP” Gresini Racing team owner Nadia Padovani has stated that “continuing in Fausto [Gresini’s] name was and is [their] mission and, to do it best, returning to the MotoGP as an independent team was a necessary step” [Motori Online] She added that “as for [their] riders, what [she] can say is talent, speed, ambition, and their victories are there for all to see, and [she thinks] MotoGP will be their stage for many years” “They’re very young, and the fact that it was Fausto who ’discovered’ them and brought them onto the world stage makes [her] think that it’s a line-up that he would have approved of” Gigi Dall'Igna, Ducati Corse General Manager pointed out that “after many years with the same riders, this year [they] have changed completely and are working with young riders” [MotoGP] He added that they “were able to identify some areas for improvement permitted by the standards.
