First Impressions is the first release by Thrice. It was released through Triforce Records, and is now long out of print and considered extremely rare. The exact release date of this EP is unknown, though it is believed to have been released in late 1998 or 1999. The EP was recorded in November 1998 three months after the band had formed.
The fourth track, "T&C", features a dialog from the popular anime Dragonball Z. The title of the track, and the tracks melody, is derived from the NES game, T&C Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage. The song would later be re-recorded for Thrice's first full-length album, Identity Crisis. It is the only track from this EP to be re-released on another album.
"First Impressions" is the third episode of season 2 in the television show Angel. Written by Shawn Ryan and directed by James A. Contner, it was originally broadcast on October 10, 2000 on the WB television network.
After talking with the host at the demon bar about his future, Angel walks out and encounters Darla. The two dance and talk before they kiss passionately. Angel then awakens, shaken by the disturbing dream. While Angel sleeps late, Cordelia and Wesley clean and organize their new office. Gunn arrives at the hotel, expecting Angel to be awake and able to help him. When Angel finally wakes up, David Nabbit is there to offer financial advice in regards to Angel's investment in the hotel.
The whole gang and Gunn meet up with a man named Jameel in order to get information about a demon named Deevak. Gunn gets violent when Jameel won't talk, but the interruption of a pack of vampires prevents Gunn from getting answers. After dusting the three vampires with quite a bit of effort, everyone complains about their injuries. After dropping Angel off at the hotel and returning home, Cordelia gets a vision of Gunn in danger. When Wesley and Angel both aren't available to help, Cordelia takes it upon herself to save Gunn. Angel enjoys happy dreams of being with Darla until Wesley arrives and interrupts.
Kiev (/ˈkiːɛf, -ɛv/) or Kyiv (Ukrainian: Київ [ˈkɪjiu̯]; Russian: Киев [ˈkʲiɪf]) is the capital and largest city of Ukraine, located in the north central part of the country on the Dnieper River. The population in July 2013 was 7006284720000000000♠2,847,200 (though higher estimated numbers have been cited in the press), making Kiev the 8th largest city in Europe.
Kiev is an important industrial, scientific, educational, and cultural centre of Eastern Europe. It is home to many high-tech industries, higher education institutions and world-famous historical landmarks. The city has an extensive infrastructure and highly developed system of public transport, including the Kiev Metro.
The city's name is said to derive from the name of Kyi, one of its four legendary founders (see Name, below). During its history, Kiev, one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe, passed through several stages of great prominence and relative obscurity. The city probably existed as a commercial centre as early as the 5th century. A Slavic settlement on the great trade route between Scandinavia and Constantinople, Kiev was a tributary of the Khazars, until seized by the Varangians (Vikings) in the mid-9th century. Under Varangian rule, the city became a capital of the Kievan Rus', the first East Slavic state. Completely destroyed during the Mongol invasion in 1240, the city lost most of its influence for the centuries to come. It was a provincial capital of marginal importance in the outskirts of the territories controlled by its powerful neighbours; first the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, followed by Poland and Russia.
Kiev is a Soviet and Ukrainian brand of photographic equipment including cameras manufactured by the Arsenal Factory in Kyiv,Ukraine. The camera nameplates show the name "KIEV", with older cameras using "КИЕВ" (in Russian language) or "КИЇВ" (in Ukrainian language) in Cyrillic.
At the end of November 2009 Gevorg Vartanyan of Arax, a Ukrainian distributor of reworked medium format Kiev cameras and lenses, wrote to tell customers that the Arsenal factory was closing after 245 years of operation. The email said that management had been turned over to the Special Construction Department (SKTB), all work had stopped and the workers laid off, and that the factory warehouse was empty. He thought that Arax had enough cameras and parts to remain in business for at least another 4–5 years. The amount of stock remaining with other distributors around the world is unknown.
The Kiev brand is probably best known for two 6×6 medium format cameras:
An almost direct clone of the original Hasselblad 1600 F sometimes jokingly referred to as a Hasselbladski.
Kiev is an American indie rock band founded in Orange, CA. It consists of members Andrew Stavas (keys, saxophone), Brandon Corn (drums, percussion), Derek Poulsen (bass, computers), and Robert Brinkerhoff (guitar, vocals). They self-released their first EP titled "Ain't No Scary Folks In On Around Here" in 2010 which has been characterized as "like having your ear work on a good puzzle". Their first single "Crooked Strings" received airplay on KROQ's Locals Only show. A second EP was released in 2011 titled "Be Gone Dull Cage & Others". The band was named "Best Indie Band" at the 2011 Orange County Music Awards and is known for "its intricate, eclectic music and big live sound". Los Angeles blog Buzzbands.LA describes their sound as "trippy and cerebral at the same time, occupying that sometimes-exhilarating, sometimes-discomfiting space between left and right brain". On November 2nd, 2014, the band's hit single, "Be Gone Dull Cage," was featured on The Walking Dead (Season 5, Episode 4).
Ukraine (i/juːˈkreɪn/; Ukrainian: Україна, tr. Ukraina [ukrɑˈjinɑ]) is a country in Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia to the east and northeast, Belarus to the northwest, Poland and Slovakia to the west, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova to the southwest, and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov to the south and southeast, respectively. It is currently in dispute with Russia over the Crimean peninsula which Russia annexed in 2014 but Ukraine and most of the international community still recognise as Ukrainian. Including Crimea, Ukraine has an area of 603,628 km2 (233,062 sq mi), making it the largest country entirely within Europe and the 46th largest country in the world, and a population of about 44.5 million, making it the 32nd most populous country in the world.
The territory of modern Ukraine has been inhabited since 32,000 BC. During the Middle Ages, the area was a key centre of East Slavic culture, with the powerful state of Kievan Rus' forming the basis of Ukrainian identity. Following its fragmentation in the 13th century, the territory was contested, ruled and divided by a variety of powers, including Lithuania, Poland, the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, and Russia. A Cossack republic emerged and prospered during the 17th and 18th centuries, but its territory was eventually split between Poland and the Russian Empire, and later submerged fully into Russia. Two brief periods of independence occurred during the 20th century, once near the end of World War I and another during World War II, but both occasions would ultimately see Ukraine's territories conquered and consolidated into a Soviet republic, a situation that persisted until 1991, when Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Cold War.
I've gotten used, to being introduced
Hello, what's your name, how are you
They see my smile, my laugh and the hurt behind my eyes
Loss is not so easily disguised
I'll try my best to keep on with my sunny disposition
But I close my eyes and end up remunising
So save me from waking up tonight, save me from waking up tonight
'Cause I toss, and I turn and it doesn't feel right
Save me from waking up tonight
Left to my own devices
I'd stay up till 3 am
Spend the whole day barely awake, and then do it all again
'Cause my dreams are filled with pleasant trees that make me think your here with me
They won't let my poor heart mend
I have tried my darnedest to continue smiling wide
But I miss you and that's something I can't hide
So save me from waking up tonight, please save me from waking up tonight
I thought I was fine, but it looks as if I might not make it through the night
So save me from waking up tonight, please save me from waking up tonight
'Cause I toss and I turn and it doesn't feel right
