Russian IL-20 downed by Russian S-200 in Syria. Interesting details of another Russian humiliation.
On September 17, 2018, Russian military operation in Syria reached a new height – Russian reconnaissance military plane IL-20 was downed by a missile from the S-200 air defense complex supplied by Russia to Syria. Moreover, the details provided in this video also suggest that it was Russians who were operating that S-200 complex.
The fact that Russian weapon can shoot down Russian military plane is amazing on its own. The friend-enemy identification system must be something of what Russian military industry is not aware yet. To explain how this could ever happen in the 21-st century, Russians started to complain that it was all because of the coward Israeli F-16’s that mislead the advanced Russian air defense system.
What is even more funny is that just a few months ago Russians claimed ...

Aramaic 'an endangered language'
The common language in the time of Jesus, Aramaic, is now so endangered the written version has become practically extinct.
Now the only place left in the world where it has remained virtually unchanged since biblical times is losing its Aramaic speakers, as people leave to find work elsewhere.

What is even more funny is that just a few months ago Russians claimed that Syrian S-200 air defense downed 70% of US Tomahawk missiles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFFQ1yvKQ34
This is hilarious, since after the incident with the downed IL-20, it became obvious that S-200 are not only incapable of hitting the right target, but also cannot distinguish an airplane from elephant’s butt.

Candy, also called sweets or lollies, is a confection that features sugar as a principal ingredient. The category, called sugar confectionery, encompasses any sweet confection, including chocolate, chewing gum, and sugar candy. Vegetables, fruit, or nuts which have been glazed and coated with sugar are said to be candied.
Physically, candy is characterized by the use of a significant amount of sugar or sugar substitutes. Unlike a cake or loaf of bread that would be shared among many people, candies are usually made in smaller pieces. However, the definition of candy also depends upon how people treat the food. Unlike sweet pastries served for a dessert course at the end of a meal, candies are normally eaten casually, often with the fingers, as a snack between meals. Each culture has its own ideas of what constitutes candy rather than dessert. The same food may be a candy in one culture and a dessert in another. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candy

Nowruz (Persian: نوروز, pronounced [nowˈɾuːz]; lit. 'new day') is the Iranian New Year,[20][21] also known as the Persian New Year,[22][23] which is celebrated worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups usually on or around March 21 on the Gregorian calendar.
Nowruz has Iranian and Zoroastrian origins; however, it has been celebrated by diverse communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia.[24][25][26][27] It is a secular holiday for most celebrants that is enjoyed by people of several different faiths, but remains a holy day for Zoroastrians,[28] Baháʼís,[29] and some Muslim communities.[30][31]

Constitution of Iraq, Article 4 (1st).
Iraq has a coastline measuring 58 km (36 miles) on the northern Persian Gulf and encompasses the Mesopotamian Alluvial Plain, the northwestern end of the Zagros mountain range and the eastern part of the Syrian Desert.[8] Two major rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, run south through Iraq and into the Shatt al-Arab near the Persian Gulf. These rivers provide Iraq with significant amounts of fertile land. The region between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, historically known as Mesopotamia, is often referred to as the cradle of civilisation. It was here that mankind first began to read, write, create laws and live in cities under an organised government—notably Uruk, from which "Iraq" is derived. The area has been home to successive civilisations since the 6th millennium BC. Iraq was the centre of the Akkadian, Sumerian, Assyrian and Babylonian empires. It was also part of the Median, Achaemenid, Hellenistic, Parthian, Sassanid, Roman, Rashidun, Umayyad, Abbasid, Ayyubid, Seljuk, Mongol, Timurid, Safavid, Afsharid and Ottoman empires.[9]
The country today known as Iraq was a region of the Ottoman Empire until the partition of the Ottoman Empire in the 20th century. It was made up of three provinces, called vilayets in the Ottoman language: Mosul Vilayet, Baghdad Vilayet, and Basra Vilayet. In April 1920 the British Mandate of Mesopotamia was created under the authority of the League of Nations. A British-backed monarchy joining these vilayets into one Kingdom was established in 1921 under Faisal I of Iraq. The Hashemite Kingdom of Iraq gained independence from the UK in 1932. In 1958, the monarchy was overthrown and the Iraqi Republic created. Iraq was controlled by the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party from 1968 until 2003. In 1980, Iraq invaded Iran, sparking a protracted war which would last for almost eight years, and end in a stalemate with devastating losses for both countries.
After an invasion by the United States and its allies in 2003, Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath Party was removed from power, and multi-party parliamentary elections were held in 2005. The US presence in Iraq ended in 2011,[10] but the Iraqi insurgency continued and intensified as fighters from the Syrian Civil War spilled into the country. Out of the insurgency came a highly destructive group calling itself ISIL, which took large parts of the north and west. It has since been largely defeated. Disputes over the sovereignty of Kurdistan Region continue. A referendum about the full sovereignty of Kurdistan Reg

The Roman Theatre Of Bosra Syria
The theatre was originally built outside the walls of the town, but was later completely enclosed by an Ayyūbid fortress. The city of Bosra had its fortifications expanded between 481 and 1251. When later integrated into the fortifications, its role was to serve as a citadel and to guard a road leading to Damascus.

Battle of Magnesia 190 BC Roman - Seleucid Syrian War DOCUMENTARY
We decided to slowly remake all of our old documentaries, as current quality of narration and animation is much higher than the one we had before. We want our viewers to know that we will always strive to produce the best quality videos. This documentary is on Roman - Seleucid Syrian War of 192-188 BC (also known as War of Antiochus) and the battles of Thermopylae and Magnesia. Both the Roman Republic and the Seleucid empires were vying for control over Greece and Eastern Mediterranean and their war reshaped the map of the region in the II century BC and was the most significant conflict of its time with a quarter of a million warriors taking part in the hostilities on both sides.
Our remakes will not influence the regular schedule and you will see a new documentary on Sunday!

The Roman City Of Palmyra
Palmyra, also called Tadmur, Tadmor, or Tudmur, ancient city in south-central Syria, 130 miles (210 km) northeast of Damascus. The name Palmyra, meaning “city of palm trees,” was conferred upon the city by its Roman rulers in the 1st century CE; Tadmur, Tadmor, or Tudmur, the pre-Semitic name of the site, is also still in use.
The Pearl of the Middle East
The entire world was horrified by the news and video clips of the senseless destruction of the ancient, archaeological site of Palmyra in Syria in 2015 and 2016, carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). A World Heritage listed site, Palmyra was one of the most important cultural centers of the ancient world.

WATCH: Ancient Roman mosaic unearthed in Syria | #shorts
A large, nearly intact mosaic dating back to the Roman Empire has been discovered in between two houses in Syria's al-Rastan district. The ornate tiles depict Amazon warriors from Roman mythology and Neptune, the Roman god of the sea.
The rare archaeological find is one of the most significant since war broke out in Syria 11 years ago. The conflict left many of the nation’s historical sites destroyed, damaged or looted.
Rastan, at one point a stronghold for opposition forces in the war, was reclaimed by the Syrian government in 2018.
This post was produced and edited by Rachel Liesendahl, Julia Griffin, Yasmeen Alamiri, Nicole Ellis and Dan Cooney.

Roman Houses Still Inhabited Today
Not all ancient Roman houses are ruins. In the badlands of central Turkey, on the edge of the Syrian desert, and beneath a quiet monastery not far from the Colosseum, Roman houses are still used and lived in today.

Not all ancient Roman houses are ruins. In the badlands of central Turkey, on the edge of the Syrian desert, and beneath a quiet monastery not far from the Colosseum, Roman houses are still used and lived in today.
