Vitali Klitschko

Vitali Volodymyrovych Klitschko (/vᵻˈtæli ˈklɪtʃkoʊ/; Ukrainian: Віта́лій Володи́мирович Кличко́, [ʋiˈtɑʎiɪ̯ klɪtʃˈkɔ]; born 19 July 1971, Belovodsk, Kyrgyzstan) is a Ukrainian politician and former professional boxer, who currently serves as Mayor of Kiev and head of the Kiev City State Administration. He has held both offices since June 2014.

Klitschko is the leader of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc and a former Member of the Ukrainian Parliament. He is the former WBC, WBO and The Ring magazine heavyweight champion and has been conferred as Champion Emeritus by the WBC. Klitschko became actively involved in Ukrainian politics in 2005 and combined this with his professional boxing career until his departure from boxing mid-December 2013. Klitschko was the first professional boxing world champion to hold a PhD degree.

Klitschko was known for his powerful punches and durable chin. With an 87.23% knockout percentage rate, he holds the third best knockout-to-fight ratio of any champion in heavyweight boxing history, after Rocky Marciano's 87.76% and Deontay Wilder's 97.14%, and is the 8th longest reigning heavyweight champion of all time. He has never been knocked down in any professional boxing bout. His two losses have come via a shoulder injury during a fight and a deep cut below his eye, which were recorded as RTD and TKO losses. In both fights, however, he was leading on the scorecards. His power and his possession of a doctorate have led to his nickname, Dr. Ironfist.

Ukraine (ⁱ/juːˈkreɪn/; Ukrainian: Україна, tr. Ukraina [ukrɑˈjinɑ]) is a country in Eastern Europe,bordered by Russia to the east and northeast, Belarus to the northwest, Poland and Slovakia to the west, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova to the southwest, and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov to the south and southeast, respectively. The territory of modern Ukraine has been inhabited since 32,000 BC. During the Middle Ages, the area was a key centre of East Slavic culture, with the powerful state of Kievan Rus' forming the basis of Ukrainian identity. Following its fragmentation in the 13th century, the territory was contested, ruled and divided by a variety of powers, including Lithuania, Poland, the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, and Russia. A Cossack republic emerged and prospered during the 17th and 18th centuries, but its territory was eventually split between Poland and the Russian Empire, and later submerged fully into Russia. Two brief periods of independence occurred during the 20th century, once near the end of World War I and another during World War II, but both occasions would ultimately see Ukraine's territories conquered and consolidated into a Soviet republic, a situation that persisted until 1991, when Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Cold War.

A wine culture existed in today's Ukraine. Wine cultivation is in the northern part of the country (around Kiev and Chernihiv), dating back to the 11th century. Since 2000 the production as well as the export of the wines increased rapidly.

Production of sparkling wine like Sovetskoye Shampanskoye ('Soviet Champagne') is increasing. Most of the sparkling wine is produced around large cities like Kiev, Bakhmut, Lviv, Odessa and Kharkiv. Most of the production is based on Pinot blanc, Aligoté, Riesling and Feteasca.

112 Ukraine (Ukrainian: 112 Україна) is private Ukrainian TV channel, which provides 24-hour news coverage. 112 Ukraine is available on satellites AMOS 2/3, via DVB-T2 network and in packages of all major Ukrainian cable operators. 112 Ukraine is focused on live broadcast. CEO and owner is mr. Andriy Poschchypkov.

History of the channel

Тhis news channel was launched within 4 month, starting from concept development, equipment supply and office space design up to programming and business optimization solutions. On 26 November, 2013, the presentation of 112 Ukraine took place, and on 28 November, 2013, the new TV channel appeared on Ukrainian screens. In august of 2014 112 Ukraine had established its own correspondence bureau in Brussels, Belgium. Within the period of its broadcast, 112 Ukraine has organized live linkups with Crimea, Moscow, Vilnius, Lviv and Malaysia. The same way, the 20-hour TV marathon was held while elections to Verkhovna Rada had place.

More than one thousand people were guests of 112 Ukraine TV channel and among them were politicians, experts, public figures and cultural luminaries. In 2015 112 Ukraine was ranked as a leader among Ukrainian informational television channels, having outranked such TV channels as Channel 5 and “24”. As to the results of Industrial Television Committee of Ukraine, 112 Ukraine was ranked at the 9th place among Ukrainian TV channels (18+, cities 50+).
